Morley Knights ARLF

Knights of the Rugby Realm

Morley Knights ARLF proudly stands as the only rugby league club in Morley, bringing the excitement of the game to young players aged 3 to 13. In addition to nurturing youth talent, the club also offers a Masters team for men aged 35 and above, fostering a sense of community and camaraderie among players of all ages.

Since our inception, Morley Knights has experienced consistent growth, and as we approach the end of the 2024 season, we celebrate the remarkable achievement of fielding seven children’s teams, with approximately 90 children training weekly. Our commitment is clear: we aspire to engage as many boys and girls in the community as possible, encouraging them to take up rugby league and develop their skills on the field.

This season has been particularly special, marking the first competitive campaign for our U12s team. Not only have they demonstrated incredible dedication and talent, but they will also be crowned league champions later this year, setting a high standard for future Morley Knights teams. This achievement is a testament to the hard work of our players, coaches, and the supportive community around us.

At Morley Knights ARLF, we understand that keeping the club affordable for local families is essential. To achieve this, we actively engage in fundraising efforts throughout the year. From participating in the lively Morley St George’s festivities to hosting summer fairs and organizing Christmas raffles, we always have exciting events on the calendar. Our efforts have recently been bolstered by generous grants from the Morley Town Council Community Support Committee and our selection as recipients of the Co-op Community Fund for 2024/25. These contributions have significantly enhanced our ability to provide quality rugby experiences for our young athletes.

We are grateful for the local businesses that support us by sponsoring each of our age groups. Partners like Jarose Interiors, Hytal Kitchens, and Morley Glass and Glazing play a crucial role in our growth and success. Their commitment not only helps us maintain affordability for our players but also strengthens the bond between the club and the local business community.

A milestone achievement this year has been our successful application for charity status, with Morley Mayor Simon Brown proudly serving as one of our Trustees. This recognition not only validates our efforts but also enhances our capacity to serve the Morley community better.

If you or someone you know is interested in trying rugby league, we encourage you to reach out to us. The Morley Knights ARLFC family welcomes all newcomers, offering a supportive and engaging environment for players of all skill levels.
