Hairy Lemons

Kelly Lewis

"I’m a local artist who moved to Morley three years ago, and this illustration is a reflection of my journey and the beauty I’ve found in Dartmouth Park. It captures the new beginnings of spring, with the first flowers blooming, symbolising growth and renewal. After the loss of my dad in 2022, I adopted his dog, Peanut, taking him to the park every day became a comforting ritual. Surrounded by the vibrant colours and fresh greenery of spring, I found strength in those walks and in the quiet beauty of nature’s cycles.
This piece is a tribute to my dad, incorporating poppies - his favourite flower - as a symbol of remembrance, love, and the lasting impact he continues to have on my life. Huw Robert Lewis."
